Waggonette drives

Why not come for a relaxing drive on our waggonette around the picturest village of Alderwasley in Derbyshire. It can take up to 4 adults. Its a great way to unwind,  spend time with your friend of family or a fantastic gift for someone who has everything. The waggonette is pulled by our black shire horses.

Our modern waggonette is very comportable and has very easy access. It has padded seats and is very different to the old fashioned shire carts.This waggonette is accessable for all ages.

learn how to drive

Wanted to learn how to drive but didnt know how or where to   start? then come to us. Drive one of our horses from a shire to a shetland. All our horses are well trained and reliable and suit all abilities. We have two shires, one dales,a fjord and two shetlands which are in training. You can learn to drive off road, around obsticles or around the quiet roads of Alderwasley(when you have mastered driving!)

Corinne is your instructor who is fully insured and qualified (BHSAI) and has a life time of experience with horses.

Learn to long rein

Learn to long rein one of our horses. Get the feel of your horse and see for your self how it truly moves. Long reining is a dying art because most people lunge their horses for ease and time. Long reining is so much better for the horse and you can see how your horse goes and how balanced it is. You can use long reining for all disciiplines ie; Dressage, jumping or driving. It is so much more controlled than lunging and you get far better result using this method of schooling .

With learning to long rein you can also learn to chain harrow and work the land, just like the ploughman used to do in the old days. Also you can log with our horses using long reining too .

If you have your own horse and want me to come out to you then this can be arranged.

Brake your horse to harness

Got the driving bug? and want to teach your horse to drive then we  can train it to drive. If you live locally to me I can come out to you and train you and your horse at home. If there are more than two of you I can train you and your horses  at your place . We provide a service that aims to suit you  and your horse .

Demonstrations

We do demos at shows around the country .  We show the now rare  craft of horse shoe making and as you can see we have lots of interest and meet  lots of interesting people on our travels. We also can bring one of out horses to show plaiting, harnessing up and logging. We charge from £150 a day . please ring if you would like us to do a demo at your show.

We arrange demonsrtations at home or at other locations. These can be driving, long reining, logging, heavy/native horse care/plaiting etc, or shoeing. 

Demonstrations are arranged for groups of people, organisations or private individuals. Please email us to make bookings or enquire about more information.
